Film programmes on 50 years Halle-Neustadt

In the first 2 decades since the laying of the first stone in 1964 Halle-Neustadt was an important reference when it comes to modern city planning. The new city represented the succes during the constrution oft he socialism in the GDR. This is proved by the quality of the cinematic documentations of the construction of the new city and the number of contributions on television

Architekturkreis Halle and Werkleitz show essential film classics about Halle Neustadt and comment in a further programme on cuttings from numerous contributions by the television in the GDR about Halle-Neustadt.

Programme Oktober 18 • Florian Wüst
Likewise on the occasion of the jubilee the curator Florian Wüst introduces in two filmprogrammes a comparison between Neustadt and other modern cities like Märkisches Viertel in west Berlin. The selection of films from the years 1930 until 2012 refers the historical city of the future to the architectural role models in the new architecture of the pre-war period, the general industrial progress as well as the social realities in east and west.
