Fa Fa Fa Fa Fa Fa - Eine Raummaschine

Fa Fa Fa Fa Fa Fa - Eine Raummaschine

The Situationists' concept of acquiring urban space was called "strolling around". In this way, Olaf Helbing and Janek Müller discovered the rail tracks from Halle to Magdeburg in 2008. They looked for common stereotypes and for the actual transformed East German society. They have found uncanny houses occupied by a suppressed secret as in horror film sets. In the performance „Fa Fa Fa Fa Fa Fa" Helbing and Müller compile their findings into texts and images with songs from the 1980s group Talking Heads and run a movable house model on rails. This first was presented at Lofft (Leipzig) and is now being shown in Halle in video sequences and an artist talk.

The work was supported by Kunststiftung des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt and Kulturstiftung des Freistaats Thüringen. The performance was developed in coproduction with Theaterhaus Jena and Lofft Leipzig.
