The starting point for the workshop's work is the assumption that urban shrinkage is a trend that will affect large parts of Europe in the near future. Instead of continuing to focus on cultivation, expansion and growth, we should consider a process of dismantling, retreating and returning areas to nature. This turn of events would be of a radical cultural nature. How would it affect our experiences with and attitudes to nature and wilderness? What would be the effects on our understanding and perception of public space and 'the unknown'?

Scenarios to be developed can use a variety of media. From them, a collection will be developed that will move between the traditions of cabinets of wonders, historiography and archaeology, etc. It will be on view during the 6th Werkleitz Biennale.
