Dominic Gagnon

Dominic Gagnon is an inventor, director, installer and active performer on the international scene who considers cinema as a technique for measuring the immeasurable or as a discipline of chaos. Since 1996, he has made public presentations of moving images, invent machines and concepts, performs sound works, built facilities and creates performances in various galleries, festivals and biennials around the world. 

Christiane Büchner

Christiane Büchner, born in 1965 in Freiburg i. Br., Germany, member of the selection committee of the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen since 2001. She studied at the Berlin University of the Arts and the Academy of Media Arts, Cologne. She lives in Cologne where she works as author, filmmaker and media designer.

Anke Schäfer

Anke Schäfer, born in Krefeld, Germany, actor and director in the TAM-Theater, theatre for new music, in Krefeld 1980–1988. Studies at the Art Academy Düsseldorf in the videoclass of Nam June Paik and Nan Hoover; postgraduated studies in Fine Arts at  the Jan van Eyck Akademie in Maastricht. Several grants and Artist-In-Residencies, e.g. at the Bag Factory Johannesburg, 2007 and at the Kuona Art Trust in Nairobi, Kenya, 2010.

Pekka Sassi

Pekka Sassi, born 1969, lives and works in Helsinki. He received his MA from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, Department of Media Studies in 2000. His works include installations, music, sound pieces and experimental short films which have been presented at solo and group exhibitions, as well as at film festivals worldwide such as Rotterdam, Cannes, EMAF, Tampere and Hamburg.

Matthias Müller

Matthias Müller, born 1961, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Brunswick, Germany. He has been collaborating with Christoph Girardet regularly since 1999. Numerous festivals and exhibitions worldwide.

Christoph Girardet

Christoph Girardet, geboren 1966 in Langenhagen. Studium an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Braunschweig (Meisterschüler 1994). Seit 1989 Videos, Videoinstallationen und Filme, seit 1994 teilweise in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Videokünstler Volker Schreiner und seit 1999 häufig in Zusammenarbeit mit Matthias Müller. Teilnahmen an Gruppenausstellungen in bedeutenden Institutionen wie dem Stedelijk Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven, dem P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, New York, und dem Hirshhorn Museum Washington.

Krzysztof Kieślowski

Documentary and feature film director and screenplay writer Krzysztof Kieślowski (1941–1996) was born in Warsaw. After graduating from the National Film School in Łódź he worked until 1983 at the WFD Documentary Film Studio but his focus shifted increasingly to features. Kieślowski made his first film for TV in 1973, and achieved his international breakthrough in 1988, with the television drama cycle Dekalog.

 

Valeriya Gay Germanika

Valeriya Gay Germanika, born 1984 in Moscow, studied filmmaking at Film and TV School „Internews“ (class of Marina Razbezhkina). She made her first film at the age of 19. Her film Boys intentionally reacts to her previous documentary Girls that was named the best short film at the film festival Kinotavr in 2006 and participated at the 59th Cannes International Film Festival.
